George Kambosos Jr. hit the headlines after his defeat to American boxer Devin Haney. The Australian suddenly rose to fame after his sensational victory against Teofimo Lopez. He came as an underdog and stunned the world with his magnanimous victory. But his recent defeat has not shattered his confidence, and this is what he had to say.

Following his defeat to Haney, ‘Ferocious’ stated a strong message during the post-fight press conference. He said, “Yeah, I’ve been through the adversities many times. So, look, true champions bounce back. The greats, Muhammad Ali, Roberto Duran, all these guys bounced back and that’s what makes their legacy. So, this is what’s written for me today, then I will bounce back hungry than ever.”

Apparently, the boxer has kept faith in himself and declares that he will return even more hungry than before. He even mentioned the legacies of Muhammad Ali and Roberto Duran.

The sensational battle between George Kambosos Jr. and Devin Haney 

Billed as ‘Undisputed’, the fight between George Kambosos Jr. and Devin Haney drew the attention of the entire globe. The bout took place on June 4 at the Marvel Arena in Melbourne, Australia. The Australian pugilist was defending his WBA, IBF, and WBO titles, while ‘The Dream’ was defending his WBC title.

The lightweight unification match went on for 12 rounds. Both boxers showed excellent footwork and strong jabs. But, Haney was having an upper hand from the beginning of the fight as he dominated ‘Ferocious’. Eventually, Haney outclassed his opponent and was declared the winner via decision.

Surprisingly, even though ‘Ferocious’ lost the bout, he got a guaranteed amount of a whopping $10 million. In addition, Haney was guaranteed $2.8 million, but the winner must have earned way better than this.
