Reports suggest that Tyler Herro is all set to receive a massive contract extension from the Miami Heat at a whopping $25 million annually, reports suggest. The 22-year-old guard averaged 20.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists this season. Undoubtedly, Herro has proved himself to be a reliable option, both in the regular season and the playoffs.

Notably, the Miami Heat will not be spending its full mid-level exception on veteran power forward P.J. Tucker. The franchise has reportedly refused to spend $10.3 million annually on the 37-year-old.

As for Tucker, he averaged 7.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game this season, shooting 48.4% from the field and 41.5% from deep.

Miami to pay Tyler Herro $25 million annually

The Miami Heat will extend Tyler Herro’s contract to pay a staggering $25 million per year, according to recent reports. Herro has proved to be handy in clutch situations in the past. The 2022 sixth man of the year stole the spotlight after cementing himself as one of the breakaway stars in Miami’s trip to the 2020 NBA Finals.

Herro attracted the attention of the media and fans after scoring a career-high 37 points in the 2020 playoffs. In fact, he served as an integral part of the Eastern Conference champion Heat team. However, Miami’s campaign would be cut short by LeBron James and the Lakers in the Finals.

Meanwhile, the Heat have reportedly refused to pay P.J. Tucker $10 million per year. Therefore, the 2021 NBA champion will be moving to Philadelphia next season. The 76ers have agreed to pay Tucker $30 million in a 3-year deal.

The Miami Heat had a great season this year. In fact, they had the best record in the Eastern Conference with 53 wins and 29 losses. They displayed a strong showing in the playoffs as well.

However, their remarkable season was cut short by the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals. Miami lost a close 7-game series to have the doors of the 2022 NBA Finals shut on them.

Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have displayed great consistency in the last three years. After making it to the NBA Finals in 2020, they were on the verge of repeating the feat this year as well.
