CROONER Barry Manilow shocked diners in a roadside pub when he popped in for a fish and chip lunch.
He had the £13.95 meal with a glass of water before posing for pictures.
The Copacabana icon, 79, stopped with his entourage at the Swallows Nest in Romsley, Worcs, for a gig in Birmingham.
Assistant manager Charlotte Elkington said: “I recognised him instantly. He was polite and friendly.
“He was very chilled, relaxed, humble and happy to have a picture.”
But customer Suzanne Dodd said: “I can’t believe I was sitting outside by him and never twigged.

“We were more concerned a big black coach had blocked us in…it was Barry’s!”
Supervisor Stephanie Smirthwaite said “At first no-one would believe it was actually him.
“He was great with staff and customers and enjoyed his cod and chips. His team enjoyed themselves too.”
