Like many Australian families, Lisa Wilkinson and Peter Fitzsimons decided to spend the holidays at the beach with their family.
And on Thursday, the couple, along with their children and other family members, made the most of the sun and surf at Sydney‘s Newport Beach.
Lisa, 62, ditched a regular swimsuit and wore a full body winter wetsuit instead.

The Project host was completely covered from head to toe as the sizzling summer sun beat down on her.
She jumped into the water and got soaking wet, paddling around for a while until she made her way back to shore.
On top of the wetsuit, the former Today show host also wore sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat, indicating that she was trying to be as sun smart as possible.
At one point, Lisa was spotted carrying a yellow boogie board around on the beach.

Despite being completely covered in her jet black wetsuit, the presenter’s husband Peter opted for boardshorts and nothing else.
He also thoroughly enjoyed the ocean, before heading back to shore to read a book underneath the shade of an umbrella.
When it was time to go, Lisa threw on an all black cover-up and strolled back to her car.

Earlier this month, Lisa gave Peter a sweet shout out as they celebrated their 30th anniversary.
The 62-year-old shared a photo of herself with the former rugby union player-turned-author on Instagram.
‘Thirty years ago today, this lovely, funny, talented, kind man arrived at my doorstep for afternoon tea… and, at my insistence, never left. (Even though, over the years I’m sure I’ve given him plenty of reasons to!),’ she began.
‘Here’s to all the amazing memories @peter_fitzsimons, and those yet to be made…but, just quietly, where the heck did all those years go? Happy anniversary.’

The couple celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary back in September, and in a post on Instagram last year, Lisa recounted their whirlwind courtship.
‘When Pete and I met way back at Xmas in 1991, there were many – including my sweet, protective mum – who said we wouldn’t last,’ she wrote on Instagram at the time.
‘Those voices only got louder when we walked down the aisle a ridiculously short nine months later on the 26th September 1992…

‘Well, here we are, an old married couple, three beautiful kids and exactly 28 years later, still muddling through, still holding hands, still the first ones we want to confide in,’ she wrote.
‘Still making each other laugh, still pushing each other, still talking, questioning, encouraging, supporting, trusting, forgiving, challenging (and yes, arguing), and still defying those who thought we wouldn’t make it (and to be honest, there were more than a few days when neither did we)!’
Despite facing early scepticism about their relationship, Lisa revealed: ‘Somehow though, it all just works.’

‘But it does also take a supportive village of wonderful friends and family to get you through the ups and downs… ‘ she continued.
Lisa and Peter, 60, renewed their vows back in 2017 to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary, with the journalist describing their lasting union as ‘imperfect’.
‘This time, it was with our eyes wide open to what being married to each other really means. It ain’t perfect, but we wouldn’t have it any other way,’ Lisa said of their vow renewal.
