Who is Bear Grylls’ wife Shara?
Bear married Shara Cannings Knight in 2000.
In 2009, Shara wrote a book called Marriage Matters, which is described as a “sparkling collection of wise adn witty saying on marriage.”
The book is a compilation of the quotes the couple received when they married.
Shara is also involved in charity work and helps raise money for “charities that encourage young people to overcome some of life’s biggest challenges.”

They have three young sons between them – Jesse, Marmaduke and Huckleberry.
Regarding their marriage, Shara once said for an interview: “It’s very hard being married to the person who after breaking his back in three different places during a parachuting accident, and then finally fought his way to recovery, and two years after that he entered to the Guinness Book of Records as the youngest Briton to climb Mount Everest.
“But it’s quite funny if I ever will be out in the wild, he is actually the only one person that I want to do it with!”
How did Bear and Shara meet?
The pair met in Scotland – while Bear was running around naked on the beach – on New Year’s Eve several years ago, according to Men’s Vogue.
In an interview with Piers Morgan in 2014, Bear revealed that he met Shara a few months before he left to climb Everest.
He said: “It was the worst timing in the world to fall in love because I was up in Scotland. It was the new year, I was training, staying with a friend and climbing everyday.”
In another interview, bear admitted he was naked when he and Shara first met.
He said: “It was freezing on the north coast of Scotland, and a wave came and took my clothes.
“I was running around naked, trying to find my trousers.”
Bear has previously revealed that he and Shara enrolled in a marriage course the year they got married.
However, he insisted it didn’t mean anything was necessarily wrong with their romance.
He said: “We figured that if this was the most important thing we were ever going to do, we should do everything we could to stop it breaking in the first place.”
