Who is Tom Ford?
Thomas Carlyle Ford was born on August 27, 1961, in Austin, Texas, but spent most of his childhood in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
After graduating from the Parsons School of Design in New York, Ford launched himself into the world of fashion.
In his earlier days, he worked as a design assistant for Cathy Hardwick for nearly two years.
In 1990, Ford moved to Milan, Italy, after he was hired by Dawn Mello as Gucci’s chief women’s ready-to-wear designer.
Two years later, he became the design director and was then promoted to Creative Director of Gucci in 1994.
After Gucci acquired Yves Saint Laurent in 1999, Ford was named Creative Director of that label as well.
In April 2004, however, Ford parted ways with the Gucci group to launch his own line, named after himself, in 2005.
The Tom Ford line includes menswear, beauty, eyewear, accessories and more.

In April 2007, Ford’s flagship store opened in New York City on Madison Avenue.
The 60-year-old’s success has been recognized worldwide with numerous awards from the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers, People Magazine, the Fashion Editor’s Club of Japan, British GQ and more.
Ford even wrote and directed the films A Single Man in 2009 and and Nocturnal Animals in 2016.
As of 2019, he serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

Is Tom Ford married?
Ford married renowned fashion editor and journalist Richard Buckley, in 2014.
The pair met at a fashion show back in 1986 and the rest is history.
Buckley was the former editor in chief of Vogue Hommes International.
He passed away from natural causes on September 19, 2021, at the age of 72.
The pair shared a son, Alexander John “Jack” Buckley Ford, 10, born in September 2012 via surrogacy.
